Building Out the Bandsaw Grouping Jaw System
The Bandsaw Grouping Jaw System started with a simple goal: make it easier to cut multiple pieces of small material at once without fighting to keep everything lined up in the saw vise.
Since then, the system has kept growing.
The different insert sizes make it possible to group a wide range of material sizes, but as the number of inserts grew, so did another problem: keeping everything organized.
That led to the newest addition to the BSGJ system — a purpose-built organizer designed to hold the entire kit in one place.
One Place for the Complete Kit
The BSGJ Organizer holds a full Bandsaw Grouping Jaw System, including:
- All 24 insert pieces
- Both main body pieces
- Detent pins
Every piece has its own dedicated location, so it’s easy to see what you have, grab the size you need, and put everything back when the job is done.
For anyone using multiple insert sizes regularly, this should make the system a lot easier to live with on a day-to-day basis.
Bench Top or Wall Mounted
I also wanted the organizer to work in different shop layouts.
It can sit directly on a workbench, or it can be mounted to the wall using the built-in keyhole slots.
Two integrated handles on the bottom make it easy to pick up and move when needed.
There’s also a reversible BSGJ name plate. When the organizer is moved from the bench to the wall, the plate can be flipped so the name stays right-side up in either orientation.
It’s a small detail, but it’s the kind of thing I wanted to get right rather than designing it for only one setup.
Continuing to Improve the System
A lot of the products I make tend to evolve this way.
The first goal is solving the actual fabrication problem. After that, I start noticing the smaller things that can make the tool faster, cleaner, or easier to use in the shop.
The organizer doesn’t change what the Bandsaw Grouping Jaws do, but it makes the complete system easier to keep together and ready to use.
And with 24 insert pieces in a full kit, that starts to matter pretty quickly.
BSGJ Organizer Pre-Sale
The new BSGJ Organizer is now available for pre-sale.
These require a significant amount of print time, so they’ll initially be produced in small batches.
Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks before shipment while the first production batches are completed.
