You start grinding, and the tube slowly walks out of position. You stop, reset it, and start again. This tailstock fixes that. It holds the end of the material so it stays aligned while still turning smoothly. No clamping, no constant adjustments.

Stainless steel wear skin center now standard for longer wear in daily production use.

What’s included

1 Magnetic Roller Tailstock with the stainless steel wear skin. Bench rollers are sold separately.

What it works with

  • Round tube, pipe, and round bar up to about 3" outer diameter, in lengths up to about 12 feet
  • Any steel bench or welding table (magnetic base)
  • Prep work: chamfering and joint prep, OD cleanup, mill scale removal, and sanding with grinders and flap discs
  • Welding: turn the tube by hand with a supported MIG gun, or support long material while a welding positioner turns it

Pair with a welding positioner and a pipe polisher for a fast finishing setup.

Upgrades

Stainless wear skin now standard. Every tailstock ships with a stainless steel skin over the center for longer life with heavy production use. It can be replaced on its own if the wear surface is ever damaged.

Materials and build

Magnetic base, measured on a steel bench: about 50 lb pull-away and 25 lb of sideways hold. The magnets are sealed inside the base, protected from impacts and rust.
